Spirit Mother

Sometimes I think I ran so fast
I didn't know where I was going
And I hadn't quite yet figured out
It's the Doing and not just Knowing

But you looked into me, and maybe saw
A bit of your younger days
So you took the time and energy
To teach in your special way

You knew the path I'd follow
Maybe even where it leads
You've been my Spirit mother
And it means so much to me

Please accept my thanks, accept my love
Accept me faults and all
Because it helps to know that you'll be there
If ever I should fall

And as you travel your own road
I'm with you every day
With all I have and all I am
I stand ready to repay
