Death is not my enemy and Death is not my friend
It's just a door that I must pass when comes this journey's end
The wonders of the universe have kept my heart enthralled
This life is truly Spirit's gift, was never mine at all

The time we've spent, the days we've shared, mean everything to me
My heart is yours, has always been, forever it shall be
When comes my time to say good-bye, and you must let me go
Remeber, love, I'm with you still deep in the fire's glow

I cannot take away the pain that you'll feel when I've died
But I vow upon my soul we'll meet on yonder side
I won't be here to dry your tears or hold you through the night
But, darling, down inside you'll know, my love will still burn bright

No, Death is not my enemy; when I've at last succumbed
Hold my heart, it's ever yours; beat proudly on our drum
Tell our children how I passed, with dignity applied
Two hearts, one drum, connected now, forever by your side.
